Sparta sits 45 minutes west of our shop in Bruner, in Christian County. Most of what we get called for out here is acreage work: a building pad for a new house or shop, a gravel drive running back off the county road, and the drainage that keeps both of them out of the water. We run it as a scheduled trip from Bruner. There is no office in Sparta and no crew sitting in town.

Site prep is the first job on most Sparta builds. We clear the building envelope, cut and shape the pad, set grade so water runs away from the structure instead of toward it, and backfill once the foundation is in. Getting grade right at this stage is what keeps you from paying for drainage repairs and cracked flatwork two years later.
