Lebanon is 65 minutes north of our shop in Bruner, at the top end of the 75 mile radius we work. Laclede County is a mix of farm ground, acreage lots, and Interstate 44 frontage, and the calls we get from up here are usually one of three things: a building pad, a gravel drive that needs rebuilding, or a pond that stopped holding water.

On new builds we clear the building envelope, cut and shape the pad, set grade so water leaves the structure, and backfill once the foundation is in. On driveways we walk the route first, cut and crown the subgrade, drain it with culverts and side ditches, then lay base rock and surface gravel in that order. Skipping the drainage step is why most gravel drives fail.

Pond work is the other steady job in Laclede County. We dig test holes before we quote to confirm there is enough clay to hold water, cut the core trench down to it, and build the dam in six inch lifts. On an existing pond that leaks, we find where it is losing water, fix the dam, and refill it.

We run forestry mulching, utility and septic trenching, grading and drainage, and hauling and demolition up this corridor as well. To be clear about what we are not: we move dirt and rock.
