Excavation & dirt work in Houston, Missouri.

This is Houston, Missouri, in Texas County, not Houston, Texas. Houston is 55 minutes east of our shop in Bruner. It is the furthest east city we serve, but we are there regularly. We have built ponds and driveways across the Big Piney drainage and handled several site preps along Highway 17.

Pond work starts with the ground. We dig test holes to check for enough clay to hold water before we quote the build. If the site works, we cut the core trench down to clay, build the dam in six inch lifts, and shape the spillway and overflow so the pond can handle rain without cutting the dam.

Driveway and site prep work follow the same rule: fix the dirt and drainage before covering anything. On a drive, we walk the route, cut and crown the subgrade, set culverts and side ditches, then place base rock and surface gravel. On a building site, we clear the envelope, shape the pad, and set grade so water runs away from the structure.

We run Houston jobs as scheduled trips from Bruner and plan the day around the work. Every job starts with a free walkover of the property before we quote anything. We look at access, grade, rock, clay, and drainage in person. You get a written number and a plan before any dirt moves.
